Responsibilities:
Some Possible Duties:
* Support Project Manager in all engineering aspects of the project and ensure work is executed in accordance with technical scope requirements.
* Assist Project Manager in the development of work preparation schedule and ensure resources, project schedule and contract strategies are appropriate.
* Prepare a list of deliverables to the Project Plan (required deliverables from Client to Contractor, from Contractor to
* Client, from Contractor to Subcontractor’s/Suppliers, from Subcontractors/Suppliers to Contractor, and deliverables for internal use).
* Ensure work packages (method statements, complete subcontracts) are timely prepared, reviewed and discussed with the Construction Manager.
* Prepare procurement schedule in liaison with the Project Manager and ensure adequate tracking of materials and reconciliation during and after execution of the project.
* Coordinate construction activities at site and manage the activities of the Planning Engineer, Site Engineers, Draftsmen, Surveyors and material collector
* Ensure timely review as appropriate on all clients technical documentation i.e. shop drawings, engineering queries, procedures etc and assist in the resolution of design issues.
* Assist as necessary with QA Audits and assist Project Quality Engineer in field inspections on assigned projects.
* Liaise with project planner on changes to overall project schedule and alert project management of potential schedule risks.
* Keep the project team informed on all relevant aspects of engineering issues that arise on the project, in terms of progress, quality, safety and subcontractor / supplier performances.
* Identify risks and dangers (general and HSE) and prepare job safety analysis and lifting plans.
* Maintain IT set up at site and provide assistance as required.
* Ensure handover of systems is planned and managed efficiently and all documentation is in place to effect final closeout.

Minimum qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering with a minimum 4 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in the piping field.
* Experience in at least one large project of value.
* 2-3 years project management experience including budget and customer interaction.
* 1 year quotation preparation and experience with bills of material and routings.
* 1 year ISO 9000 work environment a plus.

Technical Knowledge:
* Good knowledge of the construction processes, used materials, equipment and tools
* Knowledge in Auto Cad & Primavera
* Proficient in MS-Word & MS-Excel
* Up-to-date with current construction practices, and methods
* General familiarity with project management techniques, tools and practices
* Good knowledge of the requirements for safety, quality and contractual requirements
* Technical reports writing skill
* Must posses the ability to read and interpret prints/specs, technical writing.

Work site (Either one of the following employers):
* Will work in a Civil Marine / Mechanical Construction and Engineering Company in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
* Will work in an electro-mechanical construction and engineering company in Qatar.
