Responsibilities:

• Must have an understanding of various machines such as Lathe machine, drilling machine, horizontal boring machine, milling machine, slotting machines, hobbing machines and other insitu machines used in workshops for various applications along with their usages and applications.
• Must have the ability to demonstrate understanding calibrations and be able to conduct measurements and set up machines as per their standards and the standards of the job.
• Must have the ability to select the appropriate tools for the various operations of the job.
• Must be able to conduct measurements independently on the jobs and machines using precision instruments.
• Must have knowledge of tool holding devices, jigs and fixtures applications and usage areas.
• Must be able to interpret drawings and read manuals of machines for operational use and basic trouble shooting purposes.
• Must be able to read job related drawings to determine the various tolerances and clearances needed to perform the job and avoid reworks or over runs.
• Must have the ability to perform machining on various marine components as per the guidelines of the class and OEM if applicable.
• Must have the skill to use spanners, hydraulic jacks, hydraulic pumps and other equipements that may be needed for the job.
• Must comply with the HSE guidelines and work under the framework as set by the company and the superiors.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate, Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Previous experience of 3 to 5 years in a ship repair company in a similar capacity will be preferred, with knowledge of various marine mechanical components as listed above.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Dubai - Abu Dhabi - Fujairah.
