Responsibilities:

• Marine Pilots provide assistance to Masters of Ships arriving in ports that frequently need help to create certain they can enter and exit the port safely. The Marine Pilots are normally required to undertake the following:
• Physical tasks - Marine Pilots are required to board moving vessels from small high powered launches, often in rough seas. This entails climbing high ladders to access vessel decks.
• Pilotage planning - before boarding a vessel the Marine Pilot is needed to plan the course from the vessel taking into account tides, climate, size, weight and operational characteristics of the vessel, and if there's a need for tugs.
• Piloting the vessel - the Marine Pilot will have responsibility for navigating the vessel safely in and out of the harbour and needs to work extremely closely with the captain, as well as other members from the crew, to accomplish this. They would also need to be in a position to use the ship’s navigational and communications equipment, liaising with other vessels and the port control centre.

The Working Environment

• The requirement to board vessels at sea means that a marine pilot requirements to become reasonably fit, comfortable working on the water and at height. Because of the nature of the work, numerous pilots have previously worked as a ship’s officer or master. There may also be some on-call requirement and shift or weekend work is very most likely.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Engineering (Marine) or equivalent.
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Dammam.
• Preferably 1-4 Yrs Experienced Employees specializing in Engineering - Others or equivalent.
